A kitchen appliance I really missed when moving around was a juicer. When I really did a cost benefit analysis of buying a few juices per year at the local juicery OR investing in a juicer – well investing in a juicer came out as a far more financially friendly option. And now I get to enjoy juices on demand!
During my pregnancy, I was always looking for easy ways to get more daily greens in while staying hydrated. I found having a juicer on hand was a total game changer for this, as I could enjoy my juices entirely on demand.
This juicer does the trick. I like it because it is easy to assemble & clean and because it comes with the juicer jug. Surprisingly, some juicers these days don’t come with a jug which leads to a bit more of a mess to clean up.
What is in this Green Juice Recipe?
This particular recipe is great for when you are looking to get some more daily greens in and quickly. This 3 ingredient green juice consists of: apples, cucumbers and celery. It is quick, simple and makes the perfect amount.
What you need for this juicing recipe:
- 1/2 cucmber
- 2 green apples
- 2 stalks of celery
Because of the combo of the three greens listed, this is not a sweet juice. It is a very healthy tasting, green juice.
How much Green Juice will I get?
I know what you’re thinking – those ingredients aren’t going to give me much juice!
This specific recipe listed above will generate around 1¼ cups of juice.
Because celery and cucumber are both primarily water-based vegetables, the amount of juice that you will get from both of those ingredients is always a bit of a pleasant surprise.
How to Modify this Easy Green Juice Recipe
The ingredients that make up this juicing recipe are not exactly the sweetest – but they sure are healthy.
Want more juice? Double or triple up the entire recipe.
Want the juice to be sweeter? If you are looking for a sweeter juicing recipe, this juicing recipe might be more up your alley. If you want to stick with strictly a green juice recipe, swap the green apples for red apples and use 3 apples instead of 2. This will dilute the flavour that comes from the celery, while still ensuring all the green antioxidant properties are still in the juice.
Want some kick? Add a square inch of fresh ginger. This will really kick up the healthy properties in this recipe, especially if you are feeling a bit run down.
PS – this recipe is also Husband approved (in fact, it’s entirely Husband created).

Notes
I was conscious that I needed to get in a large amount of fruits & vegetables while pregnant. I did turn to my juicer to help me achieve this as a way to get lots of vitamins in at once and as a way to stay entertained and not feel like I was unjoyfully eating my greens just for the sake of it.
And not to mention – making a juice at home a couple of times a week is much more wallet-friendly than visiting your favourite juicery.
